Cabada & Hameed LLP Resolves Entertainment Industry Dispute

April 25, 2011 //  by Sayema Hameed//  Leave a Comment

Los Angeles, CA – Cabada & Hameed LLP recently achieved a successful resolution to an ongoing dispute between companies involved in the production of a Discovery Channel television series.

In this matter handled by partner Sayema Hameed, Cabada & Hameed represented a Los Angeles-based post-production company engaged in the business of providing editing, audio mixing, graphics and other post-production services for films, television programs and commercials.  The company entered into agreements to provide its post-production services and electronic production equipment to the producers of a Discovery Channel program, The Off-Road Championship.

During the course of production, disputes arose between the post-production company and the producers concerning the nature of the project and the parties’ agreements.  Cabada & Hameed filed suit on behalf of its post-production client in Orange County Superior Court, asserting causes of action including breach of contract and conversion of the electronic equipment.  Following a period of tense negotiations, Cabada & Hameed was able to achieve a successful settlement of the dispute, enabling its client to regain possession of its electronic equipment.

Through this settlement, Cabada & Hameed obtained the desired outcome for its client without lengthy litigation or costs, and its client can now focus on what is most important: its business.
